Please arrive at 9.30 to set up, session `artists 10- 3pm.
This is an untutored session where you will benefit from the opportunity of having a life model for the day. The class is designed to focus on long poses, so you can really get stuck in, use paint, whatever you want. You do not need to be attending the tutored sessions in order to come to the Friday group.
Please consider which of these scheduled classes you would like to attend and book in. I would prefer that artists come to the whole session to avoid disturbance, however I understand that sometimes other commitments get in the way. If you are unable to start at the beginning of class please come at the lunch break at 12.30. Bring a packed lunch- coffee and tea provided!
FRIDAY SESSION COSTS AND DATES:
Untutored session £7.50 per hour = £37.50 per day.
- September 13th and 27th
- October 11th and 25th
- November 8th and 22nd
- December 6th and 20th
WHAT TO BRING:
Easel and board. I do suggest that you invest in an easel, as it’s nicer to stand and draw. (I have a few available in the studio) Easels can be stored at the studio.
ART KIT – for every lesson: Some good quality large paper 190-gram paper. Colored paper or newspaper all welcome! Charcoal, pencils, sharpener, rubber, TAPE, coloured chalks. Wall lining paper is sold by the 20M roll at any DIY store and is cheap and good quality. I will have rolls available at the studio to buy. We will use lots of this paper at the beginning of each class for the practice.
At the beginning of each class I will give a short talk on the artist of the week. See below- have a quick look at the link if you can – usually a max of 5 minutes long.
We then warm up with few short poses, gesture sketches. It’s a great place to start and its central to the art making process, and an excellent practice. We will then do a few longer poses 2, 5 and 10 mins, and then after a short break we will do a 1-hour pose.
Artist of the week:
Announced in the weekly email when term starts.
